I’m Yvette de Wit, a fulltime professional photographer with an art director in advertising background. I work mostly in fashion, advertising and the music industry and have been working as a freelance photographer for 5 years now. I graduated cum laude from the art academy Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam where I studied Advertising and naturally rolled into it photography because my father, a professional photographer as well. Always being surrounded by camera’s, creatives, expositions, photo studio’s, developing film. Today, I am still having as much fun with photography as then and now I’m also developing my videography skills.
I transformed a big church in Rotterdam into my photo studio and playground where I can create anything I like in the space. There is a 20 meter high swing, aerial yoga, an ice bath, unique furniture, a jungle of plants and ofcourse lots of photo, backdrop and lightning gear.
I started out working as an art director at advertising agencies like DDB, Ogilvy and BBH around the world. Now I work as a photographer for clients in music and fashion like Bjorn Borg, Lipton Ice Tea, Unilever, Heineken, Aperol Spritz, Domino’s, Bosch, Sensation White, Pinkpop. Still using my art director skills such as conceptual thinking with the client and agencies about concepts,, design and campaigns.
As a photographer I create most of my work for clients and help them to visualize their stories in an interesting way. Besides that I love to create photo series with a team and host multiple expositions and events at my church. Photography has brought me to amazing places over the world and allowed me to meet many interesting people and explore their world which in exchange made my own world broaden. From shooting for Nescafé in Berlin to sailing and shooting across the Mediterranean for the Yachtweek. Shooting real-estate in Bali and California to shooting for Ikea in Singapore. I love to capture emotion or message through a photo and capturing sceneraries in a different, spontaneous way.
